The second full length Morifade album is almost here, Imaginarium. For everyone who doesn't know you, can you describe the type of music on the album?
-Yes, Imaginarium is quite heavy and somewhat dark power metal album if you will, there are 11 crushing and melodic songs on the album.

Is Imaginarium a lot different than your first album, Possession Of Power?
-Well, I wouldn't say a lot different, you will notice the resemblance between Imaginarium and Possession of Power in the orchestral and melodic parts but I think there are a little bit more heavy metal on this album.

Can you tell me a bit about the recording of Imaginarium?
-Sure, we started the recording in July last year and it was finished sometime in August. The recording went really smooth and great, much because we got the privilege to work with Mr. Andy LaRocque. We started with the drums, then the bass, guitars, keyboards, leadvocals and finally the choirs, the only problem we had was when it was time for the mastering of the album, because of problems that I don't want to get in to or I'll go crazy!

When will Imaginarium be released?
-The album was supposed to be released February 11 to start with, then it was postponed to February 25 because of the mastering problems, then all seemed to be fine until Hammerheart Records recieved the promo CD's and the print was totally fucked up! So...The decision was taken to postpone the album to April 8, which now is the actual release date.

What does Imaginarium mean?
-Exactly...That's the question...Imaginarium isn't a "real" word, you won't find it in a dictionary and that's the point with the title Imaginarium, we want the audiance to make their own apprehension of the album and the lyrics of it, that's what we mean with the title.

And where does the name Morifade come from?
-Morifade doesn't mean anything either, we just put two words together and we thaught it sounded good.

Who are your main influences, as a band and for you personally as the bass player?
-As for the band we have many different influences, I think everything started with Helloween but we can listen and attract to mostly everything. For me personally I have to say Iron Maiden and of course Steve Harris, it was when I heard and saw him that I wanted to play the bassguitar!

You're signed now with a Dutch label, Hammerheart Records, but you were on Loud N' Proud. Why did you leave them, and how did you end up with Hammerheart?
-Well, Loud N' Proud didn't do a very good job actually, especially with the promotion part and that's the main reason why we left them. When we started to look for a new record company we got a whole bunch with record deal offers and we choose Hammeheart for the simple reason that they could give us the best offer and the one that we were looking for.

Will you go on tour for this album, and will you play in Holland?

-We really hope for a tour this summer but nothing is yet declared so we don't know if we'll play in Holland, or anywhere else in Europe for that matter, but we really hope!

With which bands would you like to go on tour?

-I'm not sure, maybe Metalium...I don't know...

You guys recorded a song for a Helloween tribute album. Why was that?

-Yeah, we recorded the Helloween song "Judas" for a tribute album called "The Keepers of Jericho" that was released by Arise Records. Why? Well, we were asked by Arise Records if we wanted to contribute with a song on the first Helloween tribute album and of course we said yes because Helloween is a great influence for us.

Are there any plans for more coversongs? And if so, when will they be released?

-Not really, we want to do our own stuff and release our own material on our albums, on the other hand, a cover is always working live or on a tribute album!

To close it off: is there anything you'd like to say to our readers?
-Well, I'd like to say this: On April 8, I think you should go to the nearest CD store and buy our new album
"Imaginarium", we hope and think you will enjoy it and since we are signed to a Dutch record company, let's
hope we get a tour or something in Holland and the nearby area! See ya!...Bye...
