How long have you played drums?
-About 15 years I guess... I started playing when I was about 8-9 years old.

Are you self taught or have you gone to music school?
-I'm self taught, completely...

Have you tried other instruments then drums?
-No, I've only played drums... Just a little guitar, but only for laughs.

According to your website you also play in another band called Nephenzy, is that right?
-No, not anymore. I played there with our former guitarist Adrian, but after our "Possession of power"-album
we got short of time and it didn't feel so interesting anymore so we stopped that project. That's about 2 years ago...

Do you have anyone in particular as an inspiration for drumming?
-No... There are a lot of great drummers out there, and I listen to many, but there is no one that I have in particular...

Do you listen to mostly metal or what do you listen to?
-Yeah... mostly metal I guess...

What brand of drums do you use? Are you sponsored?
-Tama drums! No, I'm not sponsored...

When and how did "Gothic" become "Morifade"?
-Hmm... -95 i think... We changed our name when we released our first demo.

Why did you change it, was it to suit your style?
-Yes, Gothic felt a little to "Goth" and no one really thinked it was right..

You don't write any material for your songs, Do you have anything to say about the drum-grooves or
are they already set when you get the material?

-It changes, Jesper and Henrik write the most of the music and they often have a idea of how they like the drums to be. Then I do them my style. We often change them, but there is mostly a ground to develop.

Describe your rehersals?
-We five that live in Linköping reherse together sometimes, but nowadays all is recorded in a computer, so we can kind of reherse by ourself also... Every one does their thing and then we send it to Stefan in Stockholm to do the vocals.

Did you reherse more together when you're about to tour?
-Yes... Before the "Possession..."-tour we had to reherse alot because Stefan had only rehersed with us once
before entering the studio, And as we didnt have any keyboard-player while recording the album it was quite
hard to get it to work live... And we had alot of changing members at the time so it was quite a hard time...

Do you use any samples on your live shows?
-No, everything is live! Now when Robin and Henrik can help with the backing vocals we don't need any samples...

What's your favorite band at the moment?
-Evergrey actually...

How often do you practice playing?
-Not as often anymore unfortunately. We try do reherse together about 2 times a week, and if a get a free
evening it happens that i go and play for a while. Our rehearsing-room lies about six miles from where I live so I can't just go there when i get a spill hour...

If you could set up a all star line-up, how would that look like?
-That would be morifade.. =) I can't say anything else... They could be mad at me *laughter*...

How come you changed your style so much between "Possession..." and "Imaginarium"?
-I guess we all wanted to get away from the "to much clichéic"-metal a bit... There is bands in every corner sounding like that and we wanted to develop something more "own" and heavier than "possession". We removed much of the "symphonic" and added a lot of live-kind elements...

How was it to work with Andy (La Rocque) in Los Angered?
-He is awsome in the studio and had a big part in bettering the soundpicture on Imaginarium. No one was relly satisfied with the sound on "Possession", the mixing of that album took about 5 weeks, we remixed it about 4-5 times but was still not really satisfied... We were definatelly satisfied with Andys work and will probably use on the next record also...

Why did you change record company?
-We had a LOT of trouble with our previous record company... No royalties, no nothing... We felt that even if we were to release another record it wouldn't make any differance, so we had to change... So we contacted a lot of different companies and many were interested. Hammerheart was one of the last offers we got, and it sounded best, even if we got offers from bigger companies as well...

What do you prefer, festival or own gig?
-It depends... How many people there is and the reception of them...

Will you ever do a new version of "Starlit sky" (btw, one of my favorite songs ever made)
-No, I don't think so, but maybe sometime in the future. It's nothing that we have planned right now...

Is there any live-album planned?
-Not an album that I know of, but our gig here in Piteå were filmed by 4 or 5 cameras, if it's good we hope that it can be used to do a DVD or something like that...
